Privacy Policy

aux.thief keeps only what it needs to play music in your server, and never sells it. This policy covers aux.thief, aux.thief II and aux.thief III.

What aux.thief stores

Discord IDs	Server, channel and user IDs	To know where to play, post the Now Playing card, and who can control what
Server settings	Volume, embed channel, volume leveling, autoplay settings	So each server keeps its own setup
Playlists	Playlist names, the songs in them, and the user ID of who made each one	So people can save and replay playlists, and only the owner or a server manager can change them
Listening history	Songs requested and played in each server, when, and whether they were skipped (not who requested them)	So autoplay picks songs that fit and learns what gets skipped
Daily play counts	How many times each song was played on the bot today, across all servers	To set the bots' daily profile pictures
Current session	What's playing and queued, including who requested each song	To resume after a restart, for up to 30 minutes
Last.fm link	Your Last.fm username and login key, only if you link your account	To scrobble for you and show `/fm` and `/top`
Technical logs	Server names, song titles and errors	To fix problems; logs are rotated automatically

What it never collects

Your voice. The bots join voice deafened and never listen to or record anyone.
Message content. The bots don't read what people type in chat.
Personal details like your email, real name, location, or payment info.
Uploaded files. Files you play with /playfile are streamed from Discord, not kept.

How it's used and shared

Data is only used to run the bots' features. It's never sold, used for ads, or shared for anyone else's marketing. Some things are sent to other services so features work:

Discord receives what the bots post and play, as with any bot.
Last.fm receives the songs you listen to, only if you linked your account, aren't deafened, and haven't turned scrobbling off.
Music search and song-info services receive song names and search terms, to find songs and look up artist, album and artwork. No Discord IDs are sent with them.

Everything is stored on a server run by the developer in the United States.

How long it's kept

Server settings and playlists	Until they're deleted, or you ask for them to be deleted
Listening history	The most recent 300 plays and 100 requests per server
Daily play counts	One day; they reset every day
Current session	Up to 30 minutes after the bot stops playing
Last.fm link	Until you run `/lastfm logout`
Technical logs	Rotated automatically, usually within a few days

Your choices

Unlink Last.fm: /lastfm logout deletes your Last.fm link right away.
Delete playlists: /playlist delete for your own; server managers can delete any in their server.
Reset autoplay: server managers can clear a server's listening history with /autoplay reset.
Delete everything about you: ask in the support server and it'll be removed.
Remove the bots: kicking them from your server stops all new data collection there.

The bots aren't meant for anyone under 13, Discord's minimum age. Changes to this policy update the date at the top. See also the Terms of Service.
